The Ericson 35 Mk I is a sailboat designed by the Swedish maritime architect Carl Alberg together with Bruce King from United States of America in the late sixties. Less than 100 boats have been produced.

Hull

The hull is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season.

Rig

The boat equipped with a masthead rig. The advantage of a masthead rig is its simplicity and the fact that a given sail area - compared with a fractional rig - can be carried lower and thus with less heeling moment.

Keel

The Ericson 35 Mk I is equipped with a long keel. A long keel provide a better directional stability than a similar boat with a fin keel; on the other hand, better directional stability means also that the boat is more difficult to handle in a harbour with less space.

The boat is typically equipped with a Universal Atomic 4 gasoline engine at 30.0 hp (22 kW), which gives a max speed about 5.8 knots.

The fuel tank has a capacity of 100 liters (26 US gallons, 21 imperial gallons).
