Asbjørn Riis Stephensen
Dear All, we are two Danish guys looking for a sailboat that crosses the Atlantic with departure from the 20th of May this year. We are both taking a semester as exchange students at the University of Arkansas, as a part of our mechanical engineering degree and are very flexible with the place of departure and arrival (as long as the arrival is in Europe).
About the two of us:
I, Asbjørn, am 23 years old and tried sailing for the first-time last summer and immediately fell in love with the seas. Ever since then I have had a dream of crossing the Atlantic. I might not be the most well known around a ship, but I am a fast learner and dedicated to learning it all as quickly as possible. I am a very outgoing and social person, who loves adventures and meeting new people. As a bonus; I do love to cook and consider myself as a pretty decent chef and make a hell of a mojito, so I got that going for me which is nice.
I, Daniel, am 24 years old and sailing has always been a part of my life. I started sailing optimist when I was a kid and I have been yacht racing afterwards in different classes. Normally I live and study in Aarhus, Denmark where I still do some racing. It has always been a dream of mine to cross the Atlantic, and one day do it by myself. I think it will be a good experience, crossing the Atlantic together with some trained sailors, to help me get closer to my dream and expanding my knowledge. I am a person who likes to be around people and love making new friendships. Before studying mechanical engineering, I took a carpenter education, so if you need someone to help fixing something - I would be more than glad to help!
