The Fidji 39 is a catamaran designed by the French maritime architect bureau Joubert / Nivelt together with Olivier Flahault also from France in the late eighties. The Fidji 39 is built by the French yard Fountaine Pajot SA.

Hull

The hull is made of fibreglass. A hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season.

Interior

The boat is equipped with 3/4 cabins, 6/8 berths, a galley, 795 liters (210 US gallons, 174 imperial gallons) fresh water capacity and toilet facility.

Rig

The Fidji 39 is built with a fractional rig. A fractional rig has smaller headsails which make tacking easier, which is an advantage for cruisers and racers, of course. The downside is that having the wind from behind often requires a gennaker or a spinnaker for optimal speed.

Keel

CentreBoard

The Fidji 39 is built with a centreboard keel. A centreboard keel is a pivoting lifting keel, allowing to sail both coastal and inland waters.

The boat can enter even shallow marinas as the draft is just about 1.07 - 1.17 meter (3.51 - 3.81 ft) dependent on the load.

Engine

The fuel tank has a capacity of 250 liters (66 US gallons, 54 imperial gallons).

Fidji 39 may be equipped with dual inboard Volvo Penta diesel engines at 29 hp (21 kW).
