Review of Limbo 585
The Limbo 585 is a small motorboat designed by the maritime architect Svend Aage Christensen
Here we would have liked to show you nice photos of the Limbo 585.

The hull is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season. And outside the sailing season, just bottom cleaning and perhaps anti-fouling painting once a year - a few hours of work, that's all.
The boat is equipped with a galley.
The boat can sail close to the beach as the draft is just 0.20 - 0.30 meter (0.66 - 0.96 ft) dependent of the load. See immersion rate
Limbo 585 is typical equipped with an outboard engine.
This section covers widely used rules of thumb to describe the sailing characteristics. Please note that even though the calculations are correct, the interpretation of the results might not be valid for extreme boats.
The immersion rate is defined as the weight required to sink the boat a certain level.
The immersion rate for Limbo 585 is about 88 kg/cm, alternative 493 lbs/inch.
Meaning: if you load 88 kg cargo on the boat then it will sink 1 cm.
Alternative, if you load 493 lbs cargo on the boat it will sink 1 inch.
This section is statistical comparison with similar boats of the same category.
The basis of the following statistical computations is our unique database with more than 22,000 boat types and 350,000 data points.
L/B (Length Beam Ratio)
What is L/B (Length Beam Ratio)?
The l/b ratio for Limbo 585 is 2.60.
Compared with other similar motor boats it is slimmer than 58% of all other designs.
It seems that the designer has chosen a slightly more speedy hull design.
In Denmark, you are required to have achieved a 'powerboat driving license' in order to sail a powerboat.
In this context a boat is considered a powerboat if:
Danish definition of a powerboat
According to this definition this boat is not categorized as a Powerboat.
Though, if you install a motor of 37 kW (49 hp), then the boat will become a powerboat, and you will need a Danish 'powerboat driving license'
