Review of Finnrose 45

Basic specs.

The Finnrose 45 is a large sailboat designed by the British maritime architect Angus S. Primrose in the early seventies. Only a few boats have been produced. The Finnrose 45 is built by the Finnish yard Ab Åbo Båtvarf - Turun Veneveistämö Oy.

Hull

The hull is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season.

Interior

The interior is like most other boats made of teak. Teak has the advantage of being naturally very oily and therefore water-repellent, which is suitable on boats.
The boat is equipped with 3 cabins, 7 berths, a galley and toilet facility.

Keel

The boat can only enter major marinas as the draft is about 1.80 - 1.90 meter (5.91 - 6.21 ft) dependent on the load. See immersion rate below.

Engine

Finnrose 45 is typically equipped with an inboard Perkins 4.236 M engine at 72.0 hp (53 kW), which gives a max speed about 6.4 knots.
