Hull

Both the hull and the deck is made of fibreglass. A hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season.

Both the hull and the deck is a sandwich construction which improves the indoor climate. Especially when the water is colder than the air in the cabin, then the double hull insulates against cold water and reduce the condense water in the cabin.


Interior

The boat is equipped with 3 cabins, 7 berths, a galley, 110 liters (29 US gallons, 24 imperial gallons) fresh water capacity and toilet facility.

The headroom is above average

The interior is like many other boats made of mahogany. Mahogany belongs to the hardwood species, known for being water-repellent and resistant to decay. It has an attractive wood grain and holds wood polish and varnish well.

The X-372 Sport is built with a fractional rig. The sail area for the mailsail + jib is 68.6 m2 (738.4 ft2). A fractional rig has smaller headsails which make tacking easier, which is an advantage for cruisers and racers, of course. The downside is that having the wind from behind often requires a gennaker or a spinnaker for optimal speed.

Fin keel

The X-372 Sport is built with a fin keel. A boat with a fin keel is more manoeuvrable but has less directional stability than a similar boat with a full keel.

The boat can only enter major marinas as the draft is about 2.00 - 2.10 meter (6.56 - 6.86 ft) dependent on the load. See immersion rate below.


Engine

The fuel tank, which is made of stainless steel, has a capacity of 70 liters (18 US gallons, 15 imperial gallons).

X-372 Sport may be equipped with an inboard Volvo Penta 2003 diesel engine at 28 hp (20 kW). The speed is 8.0 knots.

The transmission is a shaft drive. A shaft drive will in the long run require less maintenance than other types of drive e.g. a sail drive.
